Hi Ken<br>Thanx ever so much for your quick support. I must confess a 
silly mistake. Just found out, after very man installation attempts that
 I my automatic ubuntu-installer had installed on my laptop a 10.04 
instead of a maverick. Now ROS is installing just fine. I hope 
you can forgive me my stupid request for support.<br>
