Hello, actually I remember having these phantom nodes as well, when trying to manage ROS communicate between linux and windows. That happened everytime I failed to regulary terminate a node on the windows side, because the thread that created the node crashed. I guess that is regular behavior for nodes that have been registered with roscore, but do not respon anymore.
