Blaise, Thanks for your help. The requested output is attached. The patch changes the output but does not fix the problem. Now it is looking for .pyc files in a phantom directory, not .py files. The basic problem is that /Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/PyYAML-3.09-py2.6-macosx-10.6-universal.egg is a binary file, not a directory. It looks like "inspect" has odd behavior for binary .egg files. So the .egg file exists, but is not a folder, and when make tries to look into the folder that doesn't exist, it can't find the file.
