Hi Dev, This might be a better question for the new Q&A forum over at http://answers.ros.org but I think you would have a hard time getting the Kinect's video/depth map over the air to your host computer without having some kind of computer on the Create. And even then, just grabbing the video at a respectable frame rate (e.g. 10-30 fps) usually requires a half-decent netbook, laptop, or mini-ITX style CPU on the robot. Others may have a better idea but I'm drawing a blank. --patrick On 02/28/2011 05:44 PM, Dev Chandan wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > I am working on an irobot create platform using a kinect to do some > basic navigation. > However I don't want to use an onboard computer to do the processing. > I wanted to do the processing on another host computer by accessing > the data through a wireless router housed on the create. > So is it possible to run ROS on this host computer and accessing the > robot via router. > > Thanks in advance. > > Regards, > Dev Chandan Behera > National University of Sinagpore > > On Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 9:24 AM, Garratt > wrote: > > $300 is pretty low, but if you have your own laptop, you can make it > happen. > > Dan was right, the popular (and my favorite as well) choice is the > iRobot Create.
