Your initial post on the group describes the opportunity well.  Where
rosserial is good for a small 8-bit microcontroller, there are a lot of
32-bit microcontrollers out there such as the Cortex-M3 and M4 processors
that have ethernet controllers.  It would be really great to get those
plugged into ROS as directly as possible with some kind of lightweight
library that you can simply link against, without having any dependencies on
sophisticated kernel infrastructure.
