TORK (*1) is a non-profit team of opensource believers based in Tokyo,
mainly working with industrial players.

A recent discussion on ros-users forum revealed the interest about web
UI tools (*2). We're by chance looking for a talent for a very
short-term web framework and application development project who can
start working soon, either in Tokyo OR from remote. Simple web tools
are already prototyped, such as plot, diagnostics monitor, and MoveIt!
visualizer, based on RobotWebTools (RWT). Now we want someone to
quickly brush it up and make some application out of it.

== Job Description ==
- Improve opensource web user interface components (rwt_ros,
visualization_rwt) for operating and monitoring ROS-based robots.
- Launch a web server environment for running multiple instances of
robot static simulation.

== Required ==
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field.
- Experience in Javascript, web server and web app server.
- Fluent in engineering communication in English or Japanese.

== Preferred ==
- Robotics, ROS (RWT, MoveIt!, roslaunch)
- github (branch, pull request, rebase, tag etc.), Amazon EC2

== Work Conditions ==
- Period: About 1 month (depending on progress). Start sometime in
July 2014, end the tasks by the last week of August.
- Location: Tokyo. Or 100% remote with regularly scheduled video conference.
- Compensation: Approx. 500K JPY (equals to 4.9K USD as of 6/13/2014)
- Team: Work with engineers from TORK. Also collaborate closely with
JSK lab at U-Tokyo.
