As Christian mentioned, several countermeasures are being worked on, and in the meantime some more moderators have been recruited to manually ban the offending users. It is actually enough to just flag the posts, as the moderators are then made aware of it. Moderators can easily ban users and remove all their contributions in one click (which is definitely much less involved than having to go through all posts by hand :)).
