You say you have no experience with ROS and you want to use it for a commercial product that ships in under four weeks? That is a rather impressive goal. If you are pressed for time you'd be best to take the road well traveled, the one where the potholes are mostly smoothed over and where there are others who you can ask for help. ROS on Ubuntu on PC hardware is the easy path.
