Any dedicated Discourse/Slack or other mean for getting involved ?? One of the main frustration I experienced with ROS nav stack is the lack of flexibility (e.g. [move_base](http://wiki.ros.org/move_base) inner state machine) that eventually got partially addressed by the community later on - e.g. [move_base_flex](http://wiki.ros.org/move_base_flex) let you use the state-machine of your choice under the hood.
