Are you by chance using Ubuntu 9.10? Perhaps you found the relevant bug report for Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libdc1394-22/+bug/462453. Comment #8 has a permanent solution. The error message is annoying, but shouldn't cause any real problems.
