Just to add another data point, I have no problems using Gazebo with an ATI HD 4670 on Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. I have to disable the compositing effects (compiz, etc) though, or the 3d part of the program will flicker.

I am on a Dell XPS 1645 (Intel Core i7 1.6Ghz, 4gb ram) that I got primarily for the purpose of running ros/robotics applications.

Hi Arnab,
I recently bought an NVIDIA GeForce 210 512MB card for my desktop, which
runs Gazebo just fine in Ubuntu Karmic. I'm guessing the laptop version
would work just fine also. Can't speak for the other two, but I think
essentially all modern NVIDIA cards run Gazebo fine, so it's highly likely
they'll be fine also.

Hey Josh,
Actually I am a little worried that such a situation should not occur that
I buy a laptop for using ROS with a graphic card and gazebo doesn't support
it.
I am looking forward to buy NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M 1024MB or GT 320M or
NVIDIA GeForce G 210M 512MB. I hope these cards work waith Gazebo.

Kind regards,
