If you needed a new rvix_collision_tutorial_2.launch file, other things may be out of date as well.  The code that actually publishes the robot state during the validity check was released about a month ago, so if your checkout of arm navigation is older than that it won't work.  Make sure you are up to date and if things still don't work let me know.
