Unfortunately, this problem is seen over many different host platforms of the NXT.  My FTC team was constantly complaining about the latency issues over Bluetooth.

You can connect over bluetooth but unfortunately NXT bluetooth has extremely high latency specific to the NXT communications protocol. To communicate over bluetooth pair the device with your computer and add the mac address of your NXT brick to your launch file. Your computer should auto detect and connect when you roslaunch your NXT launch file.

Thanks for the question. In the future please send your questions to ros-users@code.ros.org so that everyone can benefit from your questions :) The ROS community is very helpful and quick to answer questions.

First, many thanks for creating the ROS NXT solution, this will provide an affordable opportunity to get hands on experience with ROS.

On question, i see there is an USB cable attached between the computer and the NXT brick. Can the USB cable be replaced by the Bluetooth link ?

Many thanks
