If there's a better answer than the current instructions, please don't hesitate to update the wiki page! I'm not an OS X user, so I can't test this out myself.

Hi,

I want to install kinect on OSX Lion with ROS Electric. I was looking at https://kforge.ros.org/openni/drivers and noticed there was a osx branch.

Before I follow the instructions on the website (http://www.ros.org/wiki/openni_kinect) and apply the 11 patches from Ticket #36 (https://kforge.ros.org/openni/trac/ticket/36) to revision #272, I was wondering if the osx branch saves me all of that effort? Is the osx branch a better starting point or should I stick to the instructions and 11 patches? :)
Thanks.

Kevin
