I could very well be in the minority, but I really don't think the traffic on this list is high at all.

And I like seeing the breadth of things that come through that show the ROS community is thriving.

I would be more than happy to setup a ros forum. That way a lot of the noise can be reduced.

We can still keep the mailinglist as the underlying protocol so those who prefer mail can comunicate throught it.
