Welcome to the world of robotics and ROS. For your reference, this mailing list is reserved for development discussion/announces. This kind of query is better suited for http://answers.ros.org, feel free to register there if you haven’t done it already and re-post your question, many people will be happy to answer.

But just to not let you go empty-handed, here are some suggestions:

- If you are really starting and want to learn ROS, you don’t even need a real robot: use the simulator! http://wiki.ros.org/gazebo_ros_pkgs
- If you have a few $$$ burning in your pocket, you can get yourself a nice turtlebot: http://www.turtlebot.com/
- And even better than the two options build your own!! Is the best way to learn in my humble opinion.
