I guess it's not a version problem.  Lucid has the same version of sed

I tried executing the command in a test dir on my machine, it didn't
complain.


Googling around a bit this looks like a general swig problem

I guess you could also try compiling/configuring wxswig outside the ros
environment.  It seems like the problem isn't with the ROS environment and
if you confirm it as such the wxswig community might know more.
