If OS X doesn't support a python2 vs. python3 executable, switching all ROS
scripts to use '#! /usr/bin/env python2' will definitely break ROS's OS X
support, so it is currently not a viable option for forcing ROS Python code
to use python2.x on all platforms.

Does Arch have any tools that can update all the proper symlinks and
variables for you? For example, Gentoo systems have the eselect tool to help
manage which Python is set to the be the default interpreter, list all
installed Python versions, etc.
