[ros-users] Error message in Rviz

To visualize the pr2 in rviz, you either need to connect to a real pr2
robot, or you need to run the pr2 in a simulator (rviz only visualizes
the robot, it does not simulate it). Take a look at the pr2_gazebo
package on the ros wiki.
