To highlight one point from that announcement:

"ROS Electric is one of our biggest releases in terms of new features,
so we will need your help making the final release as good as
possible."

We want to get as much beta-testing as possible in the next several
weeks before the Electric release.  Please help by trying Electric
today and reporting any problems you encounter (we don't recommend
switching production systems yet).
