Hi,

We'd love to have your contributions. For getting started contributing we have a few pages I'd recommend reading through such as http://wiki.ros.org/Contributing and http://www.ros.org/contribute/ 

ROS packages are released from a federated set of repositories. There are over a dozen organizations dedicated to ROS packages [listed on the wiki here](http://wiki.ros.org/RecommendedRepositoryUsage/CommonGitHubOrganizations). You'll find the majority of the core of ROS packages hosted in the [ROS organization on Github](https://github.com/ros).  Many of the repositories have continuous integration setup and pull-requests are always appreciated.

If you want to get involved I'd suggest finding some smaller fixes and trying out the workflow. Before you spend a lot of time on a change it's strongly recommended to open an issue to propose the change with the community and maintainer(s) to make sure it's an agreed upon direction for development. 

GitHub also has some [great documentation](https://help.github.com/categories/collaborating-with-issues-and-pull-requests/) about pull requests. Every maintainer has their own process and workflow but this is a good general overview.
