[ros-users] [Discourse.ros.org] [Packaging and Release Management/Kinetic] Preparing for Kinetic Sync 2018-08-21

Kinetic Maintainers,

We're due for another sync we have [86 packages ready for a sync](http://repositories.ros.org/status_page/ros_kinetic_default.html?q=SYNC) however there are a few regressions I've flagged.

 * [radar_omnipresense](http://build.ros.org/view/Kbin_uX64/job/Kbin_uX64__radar_omnipresense__ubuntu_xenial_amd64__binary/81/console) on all architectures due to a missing RapidJSON dependency. I've ticketed it here: https://github.com/SCU-RSL-ROS/radar_omnipresense/issues/10 but it's been [regressed](https://github.com/SCU-RSL-ROS/radar_omnipresense/issues/9) on Melodic for a while so I may remove it if it's not resolved soon, and won't  plan to block the release. 

* pyros_interfaces_ros [failing on arm64](http://build.ros.org/view/Kbin_uxv8_uXv8/job/Kbin_uxv8_uXv8__pyros_interfaces_ros__ubuntu_xenial_arm64__binary/13/console)  I've ticketed it at: https://github.com/pyros-dev/pyros-rosinterface/issues/13 FYI @asmodehn 

* eus_nlopt failing on [armhf](http://build.ros.org/view/Kbin_uxhf_uXhf/job/Kbin_uxhf_uXhf__eus_nlopt__ubuntu_xenial_armhf__binary/446/) and [arm64](http://build.ros.org/view/Kbin_uxv8_uXv8/job/Kbin_uxv8_uXv8__eus_nlopt__ubuntu_xenial_arm64__binary/437/)  I've ticketed it [here](https://github.com/jsk-ros-pkg/jsk_control/issues/696) FYI @k-okada 

If there are any other issues not tracked please reply here. Since the regressions are moderately small and I do not plan to block the release. We'll hold new releases except for regression fixes until a sync on Thursday.
