Gstreamer ships with pretty much any modern distro: Ubuntu, Fedora,
Gentoo, etc...

It isn't very GNOME-specific either, it ships in embedded devices like
the Palm Pre, and the Nokia 770 and Nxx Internet tablets. A bunch of
KDE projects use it as it's audio backend as well (usually through Phonon)
