Hi Narasimhan,

I would say that you need to follow the instructions for installing ros from source here. After completing step 1.2, just copy the whole directory where the source code is (e.g ~/ros) and move it to your college machine and then follow with the rest of the instructions.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.
