A couple questions:

* What are the differences (hardware, driver versions) between the computer
that works and the one that doesn't? Does the one that doesn't have the
latest drivers?
* Is the opacity value in the display set to something other than 1.0?

It looks like a zbuffer issue of some kind -- can you run rviz with -l and
attach the Ogre.log file it generates?
