I'm having a heck of a time getting ros built on a gumstix verdex. I can't get a basic image built using Ubuntu 11.04, I installed Ubuntu 10.10 and now I am having a heck of a time with the cross-compile of apache-log4cxx. I get:
/usr/bin/ld: /opt/gumros/lib/libaprutil-1.a(apr_xml.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
Does anyone know a fairly trouble free distribution? I'd like to get it built first, so I can focus on the robotics, rather than spend all my time messing with the build!
