Datalogic is currently looking for a 3D Image Processing Engineer in our Telford, PA office.

Position Summary:
The 3D Image Processing Engineer will be responsible for the development of algorithms and software for processing 3D point clouds for use in dimensioning systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop algorithms and software for use in dimensioning applications
Design and code new algorithms to convert 3D point cloud data into object dimensions
Identify ways to filter noise from 3D point clouds, determining length width, height, and shape of objects on a conveyor, separating touching objects, and measuring the extents of irregularly shaped objects
Assist in the proposal of architectures for next generation 3D scanning instruments, improving execution speed of existing algorithms, troubleshooting customer reported problems, and performing general research in 3D and image processing relating to logistics
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Computer Science, Physics or Engineering
PhD in Computer Science, Physics or Engineer a plus
Experience creating complex software/hardware systems
Several years of machine vision experience
Several years of 3D point cloud algorithm development experience
2D and 3D image processing algorithm experience
Proficiency in Matlab
Advanced proficiency in C/C++ programming
Understanding of OOP
