Hello,

Okay, so I replaced diamondback with electric and tried installing it to a temp directory using:

rosinstall ./electric "http://packages.ros.org/cgi-bin/gen_rosinstall.py?rosdistro=electric&variant=desktop-full&overlay=no"

… it started out fine, but ultimately failed with:

Installing https://kforge.ros.org/geometry/kdlclone orocos_kinematics_dynamics-0.2.0 to /Users/kevin/tmp/electric/orocos_kinematics_dynamics

For example the latest version of common is at https://code.ros.org/svn/release/download/stacks/common/common-1.5.5/ with the source tarball, dsc, and distro specific tarball. It's a little more work but you should be able to produce them from that with a few tweaks.

Adding a new distro is a little painful as we discovered recently with natty. But we now basically know what needs to be done. Let me know if you're interested in working on that and I can coordinate with you.
