The U.S. Navy is looking for smart, innovative, and motivated individuals with strong computer science and software development skills, along with research and development interests to join the SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) Unmanned Systems Group in San Diego, CA. Individuals will work on the design and prototyping of the software and control systems for our militarys next generation of autonomous platforms across land, sea, and air domains. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with a group of highly dedicated and talented engineers on some of the most interesting and challenging problems in the world of autonomous vehicles at a picturesque location on the coast in San Diego, CA. SSC Pacific is looking for individuals with a wide range of work experience from recent college graduates (Bachelors to PhD) to mid-career professionals with the following qualifications: solid understanding of object-oriented programming, proficiency with C++, familiarity with version control software and tools (preferably git and JIRA) and familiarity with Linux operating systems (preferably Debian/Ubuntu). U.S. citizenship is required.

Ideal candidates will also have experience in the following areas: Robotic Operating System (ROS), OpenCV, algorithm design and implementation in common robotics domains (including controls), computer vision, parameter optimization, path-planning, machine learning, sensor fusion of multiple sensor modalities, understanding of user authentication and authorization (PKI certificates, SSL), experience with build automation (CMake, Jenkins, Docker), experience with software configuration management, and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
