Job Description and Responsibilities
At Schlumberger-Doll Research (SDR) center in Cambridge, MA, the Robotics department is conducting applied research and developing technology for the automation of strategic oilfield operations. We are looking for motivated PhD or Masters level roboticist interns to join a talented multidisciplinary team working on solving stimulating problems that will deliver disruptive differentiation to Schlumberger and its customers in disciplines spanning marine robotics, intelligent manipulation, drone-based monitoring, acoustic telemetry and computer vision. Under the supervision of an experienced research scientist, the intern will be expected to define, execute and interpret the results of lab experiments and/or perform numerical simulations. The student will participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and will have opportunities to interact with academic collaborators in top Boston universities, internal engineering and operation units.  

   
Qualifications
	Enrolled in a masters or doctoral program with major in Robotics/Artificial Intelligence 
	Working knowledge of relevant software, such as Robot Operating System (ROS), MATLAB, Simulink, robot simulation software such as UWSIM or Gazebo
	Working knowledge of relevant hardware, such as robot arm manipulators or aerial drones, camera/thermal/Lidar sensing technology
	Working knowledge of relevant programming languages, such as Python and C++
	Experience with computer vision, haptic interfaces and/or point-cloud processing is highly desirable
	Excellent academic record with coursework emphasis on mechatronics, control, machine learning, sensing and/or autonomous navigation  
	Balanced combination of analytical and hands-on skills 
	Working independently
