The release used officially in Ubuntu 16.04 is not a stable release, as it is not listed in the official list of releases:

https://github.com/eigenteam/eigen-git-mirror/releases

And it's a beta release, which by definition is not stable.

The closest to it is the 3.3rc2, which doesn't have the bug anymore.
