Subject: Re: [ros-users] Mac OSX Install
Hi everyone!

I've been a Mac user for all my life, so when I first started working with
ROS a while ago my first instinct was to install ROS on my MacBook (I am
running OS X 10.6). After a few days without seeing any light I decided that
since I was a beginner I'd rather start with Ubuntu to avoid extra problems.
So I ended up installing Ubuntu 10.04 on my MacBook alongside OS X. Here at
the lab we tried installing ROS on a VM but due to 3D acceleration problems
rviz wouldn't work properly (or at all can't remember).

So my point is, I'm not sure if a VM will do the trick, probably installing
Ubuntu is a better solution. Furthermore if you have any success on
installing ROS on OS X 10.6 please share that knowledge :) Although
I haven't given up on that I haven't had much time to work on it either.
